How to assess validation technology
Four questions that predict whether a platform will reduce validation burden or add to it.
Does it reduce evidence effort, or relocate it?
Digital validation platforms are valuable when they remove transcription, reconciliation and document assembly work. Tools that simply move the same manual authoring into a browser rarely pay back.
Is the platform itself a validated system?
A tool that manages GxP records is in scope. Ask for the supplier's qualification package, release process and your own configuration responsibilities before purchase, not after.
How does it handle continuous vendor releases?
For cloud platforms, release notification, impact triage and a maintained regression set matter more than initial qualification. Confirm the contract supports them.
What happens to your records at exit?
Complete, readable export of records, audit trails and metadata — tested, not promised — is a retention requirement, not a nice-to-have.
Vendor listings
Listings open to reviewed vendors
We publish vendor listings after reviewing the submission, so the directory reflects products actually used in regulated environments rather than an open submission feed.
